12 Hmong migrants return home to Luang Prabang
Three families consisting of 12 Hmong illegal migrants yesterday flew
by helicopter to their hometowns in Luang Prabang province, after
leaving temporary accommodation in Pakxan district, Borikhamxay
province.
They are part of a group of 67 migrants, from 19 families, who
returned to Laos from Houaynamkhao village in Khaokhor district,
Phetsaboun province, Thailand , earlier this month.
The 12 returnees were temporarily resettled in Borikhamxay province
while officials clarified their origins and completed paperwork for
their return. Their trip home yesterday was state-funded.
After the arrival, a signing ceremony was held in Luang Prabang
between a member of the Lao-Thai General Border Committee, Mr Yong
Chanthalangsy, and Head of the Provincial Security Headquarters,
Colonel Bounkeo Souliya.
The three families immediately travelled back to their hometowns. Two
of the families went to Xongcha village in Nambak district and the
other to Phapong village in Pak-ou district.

Thank you for posting the process of these Hmong repatriations. I
wonder whether the Lao government has any plan to introduce some basic
awareness education to where they will be resettled to teach them how
to defend for themselves in the event of any future attempts by
various Hmong criminal groups to scam them again with the same old
tricks. It’s a very good thing that Houay Nam Khao be completely shut
down to debase all of these oversea Hmong con artists.

Friend DKJ,
Thanks for the good news. Hope these people and others learn the hard
lessons. And thanks the LPDR government for it's generosity.
Friend Vannassay,
FYI, the criminal groups (traffickers) are not Hmong alone. These
human traffickers are Hmong, Lao and Thai.

Vannassay,
As HL said, those involve in human trafficking that has been operated
since 1975 are NOT just Hmong... hence, Vannassay, you will need to be
more careful when making statement as you did earlier. More correct
statement is not only required but expected from a person of your
caliber.
Human trafficking of various kinds has become a $9 billion a year
global industry and is increasingly an activity of organized crime...
There are always the seekers for a greener pasture over the fence and
there always some opportunists who seek to pray on those seekers.
Today, there are an estimate that there are some 27 million people
around the world as victims of this organized crime. Many thousands
of the less-well informed Hmong in Laos have fallen victims. There are
Lao citizen who are involved in this trafficking and the LPDR has yet
to come up with mean to deal with this criminal activities - or at
least there is no report of such anti-activity or any arrest in Laos
of people who involved in this human trafficking.

Dear Dr. Pao,
We know that you are defending another point of view because the
current trend of volonteer rapatriation is against what you are
pledging and defending for. For you and your group, you prefer that
those poor people be retained and be kept in detention in Houay
Namkhao so that you may claim that they are against the Lao
Govertnment.
This trend is irreversible and you will be able to see a lot more
video and the returning and rapatriation, even if it go against your
will.
Please be informed that not less than 3,000 already volonteered to be
included in the list of rapatriation and we will work to accomplish it
up to the last guy in Houay Namkhao and I hope to show you and your
group an official ceremony of the closure of Houay Namkhao some time
by next year.

Dr. Pao,
Please, don’t patronize other people like you too often do in this
forum, as you’re the only one to hold some kind of the last minute
clue to all these problems, even less by jumping in as a giver of
lesson. With this kind of little prank complex, I wonder why your
messages were often ended up in a flame of controversy for lack of
sophistication in rule of engagement.
Have you read the content of several articles posted by DKJ,
particularly those quotes by those phinong Hmong themselves whose own
biggest disappointment was due to be misled to go to Thailand with the
same illusion again and again as they could go to US. I don’t need to
lay out another three pages of explanation in any caliber to argue
unnecessarily about any global human trafficking which goes beyond the
implication of this Hmong-Lao problems from which you seem to be more
interested in making all kind of political statement to advance your
own agenda rather than offer a real and sincere cooperative view (not
yet assistance) on this humanitarian crisis.

Dear VAnnasay,
Pao give a damm care on those people who would continue to be detained
in Houay Namkhao and who don't know where to go... What he want is to
have this human shield to manipulate with and for his group to collect
money for the "so-called Chao Fa". The rest, is no importance for him,
even if in 30 years those poor guys are still suffer the same inhumane
conditions.
But be reassured that we are here and we do care for our people... NO
matter how difficult and how costly it would be, all phinong Hmong in
Houay Namkhao will be rapatriated back to their homeland and we will
help them to reintegrate the mainstream of the Lao-multi-ethnic
society and the sinister camp will be closed down.
Even if I will have to fly thousands times to Xieng Khouang, Luang
Prabang or elsewhere, I will do it for the good sake of our misled
citizens. We have already secured the budget for it and we will not
allow people like Pao to politicking with such a serious human issues.

i don't know that pao is one of chao fa. i think it's good that we
have people like him who can speak for the benefit of poor people who
don't have the place to go nor to live. they're the human shield for
both sides or 3-sides if the thai is included in this 'human shield
game'.

Thanouxay,
You are really out of your mind!
May be too much Lao beer? Or Lao khao from your drinking cap? and too
much Whisky... Not enough VB?
So..now.. Pao is "politicking with such a serious human issues"...
fresh from the mouth of the LPDR Spokeman. Well... I do feel really
flatter!! even though it has nothing to do with me. Thanks any way!
