I am somehow trapping in the midle.
As I alluded in the past that Hmong can tell a story best by using
words.
However the medium such as "moving pictures" is relatively new to
Hmong.
It is still a learning process. I know some young Hmong people who
could
become very capable directors. The biggest problems are time, carrer,
schedule,
family obligation and acquisition of acceptable equipments.
These are not impossible tasks but one but have the passion and
dedication and
above all financial support. If one focus to deliver specific content
for the Hmong
then it is a suicide mission. On the other hand something must be done
and those who invest the minimum can only aim at the Hmong pop and
Mom.
This is why the quality is so poor. Those Hmong who have vision just
withdraw
themselve from making a movie just for the sake of making a movie.
There are good news, the technology advancement keep getting better
and
become more affordable. I have no doubt that we will see more artistic
movie from
the next generation of a dirctor/producer. If properly managed a small
studio
could be sustainable even for a limited market. Sibtham
