not sure why you would think "we" (or i) would think such is a joke.
case 1 seemed like abandonment more than euthanasia. case 2 seemed
more like euthanasia.

when the scenarios are overtaken by extreme uncertainty, people
usually turn to "faith" to have their answers. for christians, they
can pray for signs from god up above. or they can hold steadfast and
prolong life, as vegetative and gloomy as the outlook may be for
recovery. for hmong, i've seen siv neeb mus saib. forgot what thaj
neeb no is called, but thaj neeb no lawv ib co txiv neej ua mas lawv
muab lub qe tso sawv ntseg ntseg tim ntug tais seb puas tau, yog tau
ces, tus neeg ciaj, yog tsis tau ces, ua ib siab. this too has guided
others in the decision over life and death of a loved one. i
personally, like the hmong approach better. yog kho neej sab tag lawm,
cia sim mus saib xyuas dab sab seb ntaub ntawv puas tau tag mam li ua
ib siab.
