The road to harmony is when all Laotians of all ethnicities can sit
side by side without fear of one another. Inviting the U.S.
Ambassador to the site is a positive step, but much more needs to be
done. The press, human rights groups, exiled Lao leaders and anyone
who is interested should also be invited if Laos really has nothing to
hide. When all is said and done, Laos will truly be free.

This is the same old trick LPDR used when Kou Yang lead a group back. It
would be better if LPDR allow UN in there to monitor.

How much did the LPDR pay for this ambassador to visit the Hmong
"conscentration camp"? Are these people allow to move freely once
they re-enter back to thier home land?

Thank you DKJ for showing these pictures. I knew the Hmong
resettlement village was transparent, even more so with US ambassador
and other countries' dignitaries who can be a part of these
eyewitnesses for the real progress of these misguided people in Laos.

Dear Vannasay and all,
The US Ambassador accompanied by officials from Lao Mnistry of Foreign
Affairs, visited Houmbaing village, district of Naxaythong and
Phonexay village, Saythani district which are located about 30 km from
Vientiane capital.
Why those villages??? Just because there are hundred of families of
Hmong who choose to buy land, ricefield and settle there. As of today,
thousands of hectares have been bought by phinong Hmong in Vientiane
capital, Vientiane, Borikhamxay, and Xiengkhouang provinces.
Secondly Mr. Nor Toa Ly, a native of Xiengkhouang province who had
been handed over among the group of 31 Hmong illegal migrants by
Nongkhai province to Vientiane capital in 2007. Out of those two
village, the US ambassador had visited Khoum (block) Dong Phay where
there are over 300 phinong hmong are choosing to settle there.
You can see in the picture Mor Toua Ly showing his first mini-tractor
to the US. Ambassador.
Please beinformed that the villagers are free like air to move around,
visit family, buy land and paddyfield.

Thanouxay,
Thank you for keeping us informed. You've done a great job. All these
visits and witnesses are more than concrete evidence on how these
projects have come to life and become successful for resettlement. I
hope that these Hmong people who have been cheated out of the country
can at last enjoy their normal life again with their family.
