At http://www.flickr.com/photos/laos-nt2-uppersite/305600465/ you can
see Mr. Thanouxay on the far left during a Lao Baci for US
Representative Betty McCollum. Who knows if he also is DKJ?
Congratulations Thanouxay!
Nice seeing you accompany Ms. Betty McCollum to our province of
Xiengkhouang.

there's NOTHING to be congratulating each other over or each
other for.
it's simply a visit from a foreigner (in a high position
within that foreign country which also happens to be an
extremely powerful, pluralistic, and a very rich country who
is able and willing to do a lot of things for you, in the
hope of getting something CONCRETE in return in future
dealings and "investments")
what the Lao people need to do is to TWEAK with their own
structure of governance in such a fundamental way so that they
are not looked at, treated, as a slow people (whether the
foreigners tell you so in explicit terms or just in their
heart when they look at you, thinking you are not looking!),
that only worth charity and donations, a people that when
a foregin official of any type come by it seems like EVERYONE
from press officials to governors line up to worship, show
around, wine and dine with in red carpet welcome rituals,,,,

Hi Sys,
I don't believe the picture in question is what you have presented. I
don't believe it is McCollum in that picture, or was McCollum there a month
or more ago? The picture you mention was originally published with regard to
the NT2 ceremonies back in Novemeber. I had pointed out Thanouxay in it when
it was first posted.
(Note the date on the picture being posted to Flickr is Nov 25/06. Not late
Dec like the newer pictures. Seems DKJ is just posting them helter-skelter
together with other topics.)

I think Phi Dung Mo is correct...Betty McCollum wast not at the "baci"
for the officials visiting the NT2 dam's constuction. There are two
sets of Flick photos, one is when Betty McCollum visiting school in
Xieng Khouang, and another one is the tour of dam's construction site.

Thanks Khalomlu...,
Yeah, I didn't see Betty at all at the Baci mentioned. Sure, it was a
ceremony at NT2. Someone might come up with more pictures of Betty in
Xiengkhouang, at the Hmong New Year in Phonsavanh, for example, where
she might have observed that thousands and thosands of Hmong live there
without fear of any persecution.

Please check my post 5 above. It was not to fool anybody; it was a
assumption and thanks for any correction.

this time i would to agree with HL, but do keep in mind that in times
we have to evaluate what will benefit or gain on our parts, and a
little please at this to Rep. Betty would be just fine. I'm sure that
LPDR knows exactly what they bargained for and got into ($$$$$). you
need to give a little to get back a little, as human being. just know
exactly what you are heading for...and that is the most important
issue.
