it's a good idea, but make that the illiterate elders who fought
bravely to defend our territories will not be cheated again, as they
have been in the last 30 yrs. new people with clean minds should
include into the process when the project is considered.

I differ with the idea of creating a separate but equal memorial --
it's a principle thing. Should the State of Minnesota wish to create
such a memorial to honor the services of our former Mong soldiers who
served in Laos then maybe they should consider adding to the current
Vietnam Memorial such a section.

Yawg,

I agreed, however the journey start one step at a time. If we can prove
ourselves the ability and compacity to get local/state memorial, we'll
require the skills and know-how to accomplish it at the national level.

I believe there is already a memorial in Arlington Cemetary in DC to
honor the hMong. I think the next thing to fight for is equal vet
benefit.

We need a good lawyer, strong grassroot organizing, and more
importantly we need the Hmong politics to have synergy. Right now even
before we go battle the amica gov't for equal benefits - the hmong
leaders and politicians are fighting like dogs and along the way the
take their pocket of vets with them and they fight. It's dumb, selfish,
idiotic, and disserving the vets.

Hmong vets qualified for "meka's" vets benifits? You got to be kidding
me, right??? Before we even take a stab at or hire a lawyer, can anyone
here provide me a list of names of all the former "CIA's" secret
soliders? Perhaps VP has the list of names tucked in a secret place? I
certainly had seemed enough colonels, generals, etc. when a certain
organization was running a scam for positions? There seemed to be NOT
enough scams lately within the Hmong community? Frankly, I just not
ready to see another scam in the making of who qualified for vets
benifits. Just imagine how many "former" CIA's secret soliders will
surface if suddenly, uncle sam approved a bill for Hmong vets to
recieve vets' benifits?

Jim,

Anything is possible. The idea of CIA secret soldiers suddenly emerging
out of the bushes could very well happen as usual, but that itself is a
different set of issue. I think the boulder is not whether we can get
veteran benefits or not, the real challenge is can the hmong fractions
stop and work together long enough to obtain it.

If certain people are running scam, let the law deal with them, but
that shouldn't hinder the pursue of equal benefits. If at the end of
the day, the amica decides not to grant hmong vet equal benefits for
doing amica's dirty work, at least amica gov't might reconsider their
tactic of using foreign fighters to do their dirty work.
