Wow! Thank you very much for sharing.

Obviously Laos has been moving on, moving along, and moving up and the
world is noticing. My good friend in Minnesota is doing the right thing
by building himself a nice house in Vientiane so that he can be part of
the progress, or at least to witness the progress of his beloved country
with his own eyes.

I am hoping the leadership of the country will not be too eager for
progress and rush into something that will bring about irreversible
damages to Laos' environment. As long as the people are well fed, we can
move with slow but solid steps. Build the country not just for ourselves
but also for our children of generations to come.

That's right. It's time to stop playing this nonsensical 'R' word. I
sincerely hope that whatever posted here regarding this matter do not
represent the true inner-most feelings of our friends on both sides.
Otherwise, it's really too bad and we need to go back to our temples or
churches to learn how to love all over again. All men are created equal!

Laos is truly a beautiful place and we, all Lao ethnics, should be
very proud of that fact. That being said, we do have real problems
and conflicts that must be addressed by the Lao government. The
killings of women, children, elderly and helpless people in the jungle
of Laos must be stopped, if there was to be peace.

Peace,
HK

I have very little memory about Vientiane since I left her in 1975 and
a very young age but I think Vientaine is a good place maybe I will
visit her in the near future, I hope some day will be a place to live
and shop enjoy life and many other. I saw it with Matt Lauer and I
still watch it again, it was very nice place to be.

This is probably the first time ever in the history of live report
from our homeland by an American mainstream television channel such as
NBC to bring all these eye-opener sceneries and cultures to the
American viewers sitting in their living room. As Lao, my reaction is
cautiously positive, the first welcome news is that Laos is getting
more publicity exposure for wider audience really free of charge with
this coverage, which may serve as stimulated package for her tourist
industry especially from U.S. Therefore, more tourists mean more cans
of worm with more backpack tourists who have little respect to the
local tradition nor social ethics, particularly the American worms who
have been known as the worst of all, because of their rubbish
insensitivity toward other cultures often driven by...

I saw the live coverage. Unlike what many VP thugs want you to
believe, Laos is a safe and friendly place to visit.
