Vientiane to mark Uprising Day

The Vientiane Information and Culture Department will organise
entertainment, competitions and a photo exhibition to celebrate 32 nd
anniversary of Uprising Day between August 22 and 23 at Lao-ITECC.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, the deputy director of the
department, Mr Soutan Phonsongkham, said the celebration of August 23
had become an important date in the Lao calendar to mark the day in
1975 when administrative power was peacefully seized by popular forces
led by the Lao People's Revolutionary Party.

According to the records of the Ministry of Information and Culture,
more than 20,000 people in Vientiane joined the demonstration to seize
administrative power from the opposition.

People took to the street with placards and slogans denouncing the
old, decadent regime.

This event was a show of force bound by the solidarity among the
people of Vientiane and in other parts of the country, which
culminated in the founding of the Lao People's Democratic Republic on
December 2, 1975.

Laohaklao,
Seems you need to read American history outside of the comic book
synopsis version you are trying to portray. It is very convenient to attempt
to compress 100+ years of history into a very short period of time but it is
only within the limitations of your classroom that it seemed such a short
period of time. Short only to the victors who wrote the history, not in the
real time day-to-day life of the oppressed losers who lived in that
oppression day to day for many decades or even 10s of decades.
Where is the poorest segment/section of America? Wasn't always that way,
they were once amongst the wealthiest prior to the civil war! When did it
change, how did it change, what occurred to make it change?

Laohaklao,

Reconcile to whom? You always say yourself bye-bye to the old death
regime and nobody in Laos nowadays needs those death people.

You said all Sir DKJ. Reconcile to whom?
As long as those people in the picture and their descendent is still
alive, we, the LPDR will keep eyes on them day and night. Unless their
descendents craw back with their tail tuck behind them and begging for
mercy, we would considered to keep them alive in Laos at their right
place, like, PhoneThong Hotel etc.
