Back in the mid eighties when KZ first came on scene and Bird
Thongchai just got his Sabai-sabai started, there was a hill tribe
group called The Hmong which consisted mainly of Mong kids and other
hill tribes kids, junior high school age and younger. The Hmong made
enough notice in Thailand that a group called Noke-lae, Thai kids age
range about the same as those of The Hmong, also poping up, singing
same type of songs--hill tribe theme. Not sure if Noke-lae kids play
the instrument themselves, but The Hmong did. So the talents was
there way back then already. Even now I'm wondering whether if any
member of the current band Toog Xyooj was a member of The Hmong. Does
anyone know if there is any other band other than Toog Xyooj/Laib Laug
in Thailand right now?
