Eight Lao Hmong migrants who have returned from Thailand have
expressed happiness at being back with their families after spending
several years detained in Houaynamkhao village in Khaokhor district,
Phetsaboun province, Thailand.

The eight returnees are part of the 67 migrants, from 19 families, who
returned from Thailand earlier this month.

The migrants are now in a temporary centre, which has been set up in
Pakxan district, Borikhamxay province, to house the returnees.

Yesterday the group of eight returned to their hometown in Vangvieng
district, Vientiane province.

One of the returnees, Mr Nengher, said yesterday “I would advise the
Hmong still living in Thailand to return home, because life there is
tough. In Thailand we had no freedom. We weren't able to earn a
living
because we were restricted to a confined area. In Laos we have
farmland so that we can make a living.”

Governor of Vangvieng district, Mr Kongsy Oudom, said district
authorities would find a place for those who were homeless. Some of
those with parents and relatives living in the area will be sent to
live with them.

Dear Muat,
This is what you are saying... Why don't you ask yourself how many
Hmong are living happily in Laos??? and How many of them are working
hand-in-hand with us on a daily basis???
Look at the picture of the Hand-over ceremony at the City Hall in
Vientiane province, Mr. Vansay Song Sayu, Member of the Party Standing
Committee and Head of the Party and State Control Commission of
Vientiane and Colonel Seda Lor, Member of the Party Standing Committee
and Chief of Military Command of Vientiane Province are both from
Hmong Ethnic group... So your comment is completely obselete...

First of all I would like to thanks ai Thanouxay and your LPDR team
for doing an excellent job to bring our phinong Hmong from Thailand
home . Those returnees will be very happy to be free from the retained
Houaynamkao camp . Of course it's always going to be some ill intended
hunting mad dog for the hmong terrorist group from overseas barking
all the time no matter if LPDR doing good or best . Long live LPDR .
