In the mind of the Hmong people, especially the older generation, they
believe that Obama's candidacy for the U.S president is a joking one.
Most people said " Obama can compete for the Black House but surely
not the White House". Hmmmm can't interpret that...
One person joking about Obama saying that " When Obama put his
sunglass on, he looks exactly like Micheal Jackson"... No no no it
can't be that way. Obama's hair is way too short...
And another person asked: " can Obama bring freedom, democracy, and
human rights to the country of Laos?". He he this question is way too
hard for Obama to answer. Only Bush and Mccain can answer it..He he

Regardless what people say, I personally believe that Obama will not
win...not because he is not qualified, not because he is not
popular...not because of anything...but because it is not his time
(nws txoj hmoo los tsi txog rua nws). In this race..."noob/caj ceg"
will play a big role. People believe (or seem to express) the idea of
"land of opportunity..and that everyone has the opportunity...equal
right...etc"....but the fact (in this case) is, Obama will loose
because he is competing with a better lineage. Similar to the Hillary
case...no matter how smart she is...no matter how good she
is...America is not ready for a woman to be a president. Obama...to
be as racist as possible...is not ready to be president simply because
he is the "wrong" man in the eyes of the same people who view...

Friends,
Well, I guess he is going to win the election; not because he is a
Black or a White, but because he is a Democratic. The people of
American have been tired on the Republican policy for the last 8
years; they will shift the executive branch to other party in hope for
a better America, in terms of economics and world relationship.
I could be wrong,

but, isn't "mccain" from the "wrong" lineage too? isn't "mc" irish? i
don't think there were any "mc" on the mayflower. remember, JFK was
definitely from the "wrong" lineage too; irish catholic; and, though
he won the presidency, he was killed; and his brother RFK....?
i think to "win", especially the popular vote, is easy for obama. the
"electoral" vote will be more difficult. the most difficult thing to
win for obama will be the actual number of days serving as the first
non-white president of the usa. when "they" need to, "they" don't
hesitate.

I think Obama will win.

I'll be voting for him in any case. If I get my citizenship
certificate in time (supposed to be mid-Oct).

Zhen and all....
I wasn't referring to the point that Obama is black...or that McCain
is of Irish descent...similar to VP, yog tias one of his son would
"stand up" and "talk like VP"...that son will have a very good chance...

I can't believe all of the racist stuffs you guys say in here. Of all
people we should not tolerate racism let along promote it because
being Hmong we have been victims of overt racism from China to Laos
and more subtle racism in the US.

Racist is everywhere...in every culture to every nation...the good
thing about it...is to "know" that they exist...the bad thing is to be
naive and conclude that it desn'tt exist...espeically in america.
