Thief and gangster are on the rise in Laos so be very careful if you
travel to Laos during the new year. They will become rich overnight
just by killing one or two Lao-nor. They know that Lao-nor usually
carry cash with them. Don't go unless neccessary b/c your life will
be risky. Beautiful woman will lure you into the brothel and then
kill you for the money while you lay naked on top of her.

Police arrest four gangsters

(KPL) A police team arrested four men on 29 August, who were suspected
of snatching ladies hand bags, pick pocketing, armed robbery and
stealing state properties.
They were part of a gang of 12 who used guns, knives and other weapons
in their crimes and their area of operations was around Vientiane
Capital, said the Sisattanark district police officers.
Ranging from 18 to 25 years old, the offenders had been sent to the
Somsanga Rehabilitation Centre and other rehab sites for the treatment
of amphetamine addiction.
During their detention period at the Somsanga Centre and also in jails
they were given medication and counselling, but they have not
reformed, the district police said. .
The police cited a case. ?Mr Saisamone, 20, who was arrested for
stealing a Honda motorcycle in 2008 confessed that he had stolen on
many occasions and that he operated with others as a team.
He added that theft was an adventure and that when they sold their
stolen properties the money gained is a kind of profit but without
having to do any investment.?
