Foreign brides struggle to assimilate in Taiwan due to cultural
differences

TAIWAN: A growing number of Southeast Asian and mainland Chinese women
are making Taiwan their home.

My recent trip to taiwan, I met a few mail-order-brides from Vietnam
and Laos who are working in a bar and I asked them of what and why
they have ended up working in there. They told me that their husbands
are not really married them to keep as wives but forced them to become
prostitutes to recover the bride price and also for a fast return of
the investment.

These women have been looked up in a special room with hidden cameras
and there is no easy way out. Any guess who does not want to have sex
but keep asking these women will be kicked out. I had been kicked out
for taking pictures of them and also asking them a lot of questions
even I had paid the price for four girls and being in a special room
for sex.

Most of these Chinese grooms are marriage men and their wives agree
for them to bring in foreign brides to help with social-economic
pressure in the 21st century. Only the Hmong and Lao Lum are married
to their foreign brides to start a new life but others just like what
I have mentioned abov

Phases of female shortages has been cyclical throughout Chinese
history. In the past, when droughts or floods resulted in famines,
sons were spared while daughters took the final sacrifice. In such
times, because mail-ordered brides were nonexistent, many males went
through life without the warmth of a female body. So much for saving
sons in order to perpetuate a family line.

It's unfortunate to hear these stories, I have no doubt they are true.
Similar cases in Mexico still exist today.

The wise men know it all too well, "Evil prevails where good men fail
to act."

I only hope there will be enough good men to fight such evil in the
end. Truth is there are battlefronts of injustice all over the world,
we simply need to choose what matters most to us and go to the
frontline from there.
