Thailand to repatriate 215 ethnic Hmong to Laos

BANGKOK, July 4 (TNA) - Thailand will repatriate 215 ethnic Hmong
minority to Laos next Thursday across the Thai-Lao Friendship bridge
border crossing across the Mekong River in the northeastern province
of Nongkhai, according to Lt-Gen. Nipat Thonglek, Chief of the Royal
Thai Army's Border Affairs Department.

Gen. Nipat noted that some foreign diplomatic missions expressed
satisfaction that there were no human rights violations taking place
and that the members of the ethnic minority group were not being
deported against their will.

He said nine envoys from six countries -- Australia, Britain, Canada,
France, the Netherlands, and the United States, as well as a
representative from the European Union -- were satisfied with the
treatment of the 215 Hmong who would be sent back to Laos next week,
after the diplomats visited them Wednesday at the 28th Cavalry
Battalion in the northern province of Phetchabun. http://www.flickr.com/photos/troubles

DJK,

Great propaganda on America's indepence day. The only these nations
agree is to allow third party/ UN personnel monitor those refugees
back in Laos. After all, it is all Lao and thai's dirty politics.
Half of those return will be death within a year with LPDR food
poissoning.

Just dirty politics from Thai and Lao. These nations are asking them
to come to their countries , especiallly Netherland. Thai and Laotian
are jeolous, if allow these folks to settle oversea, one of these
days in the future some of these kids gonna write and book and tell
the world of Thai and Lao dirty politics. Thai and Lao still think
their great prizes are the heads of these folks. If LPDR can have
these folks they think they can get the biggest fish,

LOL

What is there to be jealous of? The fact is that the US and other
Western Countries are playing politic with these people's lives to
save their own faces. Immigration is a hot issue in both the US and
Europe after the failed assimilation and backlash from the recent wave
of refugees and immigrants.

A certain sector of the American general public have repeatedly
alleged that immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans,
contributing to social unrest and crimes.

France to set out new European priorities for immigration
by Lorne Cook

BRUSSELS (AFP) - France unveils Monday sweeping guidelines to control
immigration in Europe, as the EU comes under international fire over
moves to force illegal immigrants out.

At informal talks in the Riviera resort city of Cannes, Immigration
Minister Brice Hortefeux will present a "European Pact on Immigration
and Asylum", a major plank of France's EU presidency, which began on
July 1.

It sets out principles for the 27-nation bloc to manage migration,
fight illegal immigration and help development in poor countries that
people are leaving or travelling through to get to Europe.

The package comes as Spain and Malta struggle to deal with boatloads
of Africans making perilous journeys across the Mediterranean, while
Italy has startled its neighbours with plans to fingerprint Roma
gypsies.

In contrast, many European countries are in need of skilled immigrant
and seasonal workers as their populations decline and grow steadily
older.
