Phoojywg ZooNeej,
You are not alone. The online income tax software is free but
electronic filling is not; that's why you end up paying something.
However, I normally pay higher than you do by using Turbo Tax. I
choose to use Turbo Tax anyway because of convenience and flexibility.
I can transfer all the data from last year's income tax returns and
simply enter the new informations. I usually do mine and some of my
relatives' income tax returns; the costs of Turbo Tax software
(Federal + one State) alone is about $42 and the cost for e-filing is
$35.90 for each returns.
Phoojywg TxawjTuam,
Your pricing is pretty reasonable.
