November weather in Kona

I've heard that "winter" hits Hawaii from November to March and that
there are much more frequent rains. I'm curious about the Kona area on
the Big Island - historically, when in November does the rainy weather
start?

Thanks.

Actually Kona is unlike the rest of Hawaii. The winter is our dry
season.
November and December are typically the driest months of the year.

Is that because the hurricane season ends sometime
soon? Most of "Kona" weather comes from hurricanes that
degrade into tropical storms. It seems to have been a
little wetter this summer than usual.

We've done Kona from Sept. until Feb., and it's been mostly dry all
of the
time. Rain is infrequent. Yes, Winter may be officially in place, but
that's
like saying that Summer has ended in Phoenix, when Fall officially
begins -
yeah, tell that to my thermometer.
