Sorry, Brian, being neither affliated nor a customer of Sharky's I
really do
not know the difference either. All I have to go by are those Sharky
links
that you have provided. But I can hazard the traditional and well know
wag - Sharky's sells its coffee by the pound for $13 plus shipping on
the
one hand and by the five pounds (five 1 pound bags) for $55 plus
shipping on
the other. Therein lies the difference between the advertised $13 a
pound
and your calculated $11 a pound. In all probability, the coffee in
the one
pound order and that in the five pound order are the same coffee-
wise. On
the one hand, one pound sacks are involved in both kinds of orders and
on
the other hand a persual of the website reveals only different roasts
of the
same coffee, rather than different roasts of different coffees.
I find their presentation somewhat confusing. On the "Variety/Sampler
Pack"
webpage
http://www.sharkyscoffee.com/store/catalog/Variety-Sampler-Packs-orderby0-p-1-c-257...
is the exact same five pound offer - same SKU: HE_5LB_MISC - with no
reference to any kind of variety/sampler and what I presume is one 1
pound
sack displayed rather than the five 1 pound sacks I would have expected.
Then the sampler packs of three 8 oz, three 1 pound, and five 1 pound
offer
of different roasts all show the same display of what looks like four
different 1 pound sacks, none of which look at all like the 1 pound sack
displayed in the five pound offer. Perhaps you - being a customer of
theirs - can explain all this inconsistency.
I do think you need to communicate with the Sharky's folks for more
definitive information.
