It isn't inflation, Maren... I haven't tried to figure what the
inflation adjusted price will be, but I'm sure that the present price
is much higher. Remember that the $10 price is from the wholesale
prosessor of the bean and not the grower. If we had purchased it from
the grower, we probably could have gotten an even lower price.
The demand for Kona coffee is much higher now. That is probably the
more germane reason. At these high rates, I really don't feel the
pleasure of Kona coffee is worth it. I'm satisfied with other brands
and blends. There seems to be now a point of buyer resistance. Kona
coffee to drink seems to be bought only at exclusive restaurants
today.
