That's great! I also participated in a small way. A high school
classmate is on the planning committee and sent email to us saying
that Punahou and Kamehameha graduates putting in a big effort and that
we should support the Festival as well. It got our competitive juices
flowing and the result is that Waipahu High School put on a good
showing of support as well. This is a guy who is now a lawyer-- having
got his degree in the military. Jerry is constantly reminding us of
what losers we are, that so few of us public school kids of our
generation went to college.

BTW I think that you need to give your mayor of Seattle a hand because
my classmate says that the city supported them as well and IIRC the
mayor even showed up at the Festival. I can't believe there are that
many ex-Hawaiians that vote in Seattle.
