A DARK OMEN OF WAR? ‘U.S. Prophesizes Iran Striking Back - U.S. State
Department official Thomas Shannon hints at a war on Iran, saying

U.S. Prophesizes Iran Striking Back

PressTV, Iran,
7 May, 2008.

US State Department official Thomas Shannon hints at a war on Iran,
saying Tehran may use South America as a springboard for retaliation.

In a Wednesday conference, Shannon opined that the Islamic Republic is
likely to use Latin America to launch retaliatory strikes against the
United States in the event of a US military attack on the country.

"It's a way to push back on us… Our broader concern is that it
maintains that capacity in the Americas as a threat against us in the
event of any conflict," claimed Shannon.

He then renewed accusations of Tehran masterminding the 1990 bombings
in Buenos Aires.

Hello to all,
the production of goods in one country at a production price and
selling the goods at a higher price as this method could cause company
to earn more and open up more job opportunities in a company. This
will cause busioness as well as economic situations (growth) to
improve.

China says Dalai Lama trying to blacken its name
Tue May 6, 10:09 PM ET
http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20080507/ts_nm/china_tibet_dc_19

BEIJING (Reuters) - The Dalai Lama is trying to blacken China's name
and prevent its rise, a state newspaper said on Wednesday, suggesting
Beijing is in no mood to compromise just days after talks with the
exiled spiritual leader's aides.

China blames the Dalai Lama for a wave of anti-government unrest
throughout its Tibetan areas which started in March and has vilified
him as a separatist bent on independence for Tibet and disrupting the
Beijing Olympics.

The Dalai Lama denies China's charge that he orchestrated the unrest
and says he wants meaningful autonomy, not independence, for Tibet.

"Trying to internationalize the 'Tibet problem' is a separatist plot
of the Dalai Lama's and a clumsy way of damaging China's international
image," the official Tibet Daily said in an editorial.

BEIJING: China announced new rules Wednesday that require health care
providers to report all cases of a viral illness that has killed 28
children and sickened thousands in outbreaks across the country.

So far there have been 16,778 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease this
year, the official Xinhua News Agency said, cropping up in areas ranging
from the tropical island province of Hainan in the south to Jilin
province in the northeast, Yunnan province in the southwest and Inner
Mongolia in the north.

The number and scope of cases in recent years, along with the need for
increased surveillance, prompted the Health Ministry to enforce the new
reporting rules, spokesman Mao Qun'an said.

TIBETANS STEADFAST, WITH NO LET-UP IN CHINA'S REPRESSION

Help. I'm running out of new ways to say 'Resistance, Repression
Continue' for a headline. These people just won't give up.

A Tibetan woman who reportedly protested peacefully on March 16 and 17
in Ngaba County, Kham (Ch: Sichuan) was arrested on March 18 by
Chinese security forces, allegedly because she was the first person to
have taken down a door plate at the local township office. She was
released after nine days in prison, in an extremely critical
condition. She had spent those nine days receiving torture from the
prison guards.
There were many bruise marks on her body, she was unable to speak and
eat food, constantly vomiting and could hardly breathe properly.

After the release, her relatives immediately took her to the County
government hospital for treatment. However, the County government
hospital refused to admit her to the hospital to receive timely
medical...

Online protests against Chinese repression
An online protest against the Chinese government's repression of its
people has taken the form of an international poem relay in support of
a jailed journalist. As the Olympic Torch has passed from country to
country, Shi Tao's poem "June" has been translated into local
languages and posted to the Web in both text and spoken forms.

Today the torch begins its so-called "Journey of Harmony" across the
Chinese mainland, so it's time to turn up the heat further on the
government of China. The Chinese government has been trying to portray
the protests as an insult to the Chinese people, rather than the
defense they actually are. Using a bit of Chinese culture as a tool of
protest helps to defeat that lie.
