UNICEF consultant fined for drug offence
Ms Lisa Woods, a UNICEF consultant and a US passport holder was fined
Rs. 8000 by a Colombo Court for being in possession of 80mg of heroin.
She had been found unconscious in her room at Renuka Hotel in Colombo.
She had been admitted to the intensive care unit where a routine check
of her clothes by the hospital staff had resulted in the recovery of
80 mg of heroin. It had been in one of the pockets of her denims.
She was arrested on 17th March and produced before a Magistrate who
ordered her to be remanded till 25th March. When she was produced
before the Magistrate on 25th March, a fine of Rs 8,000 was imposed on
her on the charge of being in possession 80 mg of heroin.
UNICEF office in Colombo has confirmed that Ms Woods' was a member of
its organization...

This is not the first time NGO's related to Catholic Church caught
helping LTTE criminals. Red Cross, WorldVision, Norad and many other
organisation which are peace arm of the Church caqught donating money,
band goods etc to LTTE. UN is now mainly finanaced by the Church. Only
Church activists can be UN employees now. This rotten women appointed
as a UN employee only because she is a Catholic Church's worker.
