COLOMBO: Sri Lanka was able to win the honour of being elected to the
chair of the Executive Board of the WHO as nobody could poison the
world body by negative propaganda and a positive image of Sri Lanka
had already been built within the Board over the years, new Chairman
of the Board, Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala De
Silva said Thursday.

Addressing the gathering at a reception held to felicitate the
minister on his election to the new post, Minister De Silva said he
had been a member of the Board since 1997 and had been educating the
world body about the progress achieved in Sri Lanka in the health and
social sectors all these years.
