[By: Walter Jayawardane]

The liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam(LTTE) refused to accept the Sri
Lanka government proposals claimed to ease the food situation in Jaffna
peninsula and provide a safe haven for civilian refugees at Vakarai, in
the East.

The political head of the LTTE refused to accept the government
proposals and said the opening of the A-9 and A-15 Roads cannot be
negotiated on conditions when the Norwegian peace facilitators led by
Special Envoy, Jan Hansen Bauer, carrying government proposals met S. P.
Tamilselvan at their headquarters in Kilinochchi.

The government sent proposals requesting the LTTE to open the A-9 Road
at Muhamalai to let a convoy of trucks to pass their check point and
provide security for them to deliver food stockpiles in Jaffna in
addition to the regular food deliveries by ships to avoid any food
shortages for the civilians in Jaffna.

Mexico's patron saint impacts lives worldwide

WATSONVILLE

That wasn't an apparition outside St. Patrick's Catholic Church the
other day.

It was Augustin de Paz incarnate, a devout Catholic and patriot, riding

his bicycle with a bunch of American and Mexican flags on the back and
a framed photograph of La Virgen de Guadalupe on the front.

It's the season of the Blessed Virgin, after all.

Thousands of Latino communities stretching from here to Mexico and
South America will be holding early morning, candle-lit processions
Tuesday to honor the 475th anniversary of her sighting on a Mexican
hillside.

And it will be La Virgen's image leading the way, hoisted in the form
of statue or photograph, with the sound of mariachis surrounding her, a

Mexican tradition that awakens even the birds.

"She's the all-powerful. She's the mother of Mexico," said de Paz, 66.
"We pray to her and if you believe in her, she'll protect you and
answer your prayers."

No. The only teachers they respect are their own religious teachers.
The others are prime game. Look at Southern Thailand. Bloody
hypocrites and they accuse everyone else for their backwardness.
