The Natural History Museum is affiliated to the British Museum and is
therefore protected in law by the insurmountable British Museum
Act. It is this statute that prevents the Elgin Marbles and Benin
Bronzes from being repatriated to their countries of origin.
The NHM will have carried out many tests to date on these remains and
only seeks to ensure it has the most complete record possible for the
prosperity of all off mankind. It will then return all of the remains
as it has promised. If you think we would treat our ancestors any
differently then take a look at Lindow Man
