They are not "interested in Earth". If you ever had the likes of
interstellar/interplanetary travel capability, would you be the least
bit interested in Earth? (other than for a good laugh, I wouldn't)

Or at least from wherever Earth originally came in from. (possibily
Sirius, just before our big old red giant Sirius B went white dwarf on
us.)

Sounds perfectly doable, and otherwise fully logical. Even our once
upon a time icy and still rather salty old moon may have managed an
interstellar migration on behalf of getting the likes of us easily
snookered and thereby continually dumbfounded humans plus loads of
complex other forms of life safely from point A to point B.
