Since there is no evidence of Newton's inertial
ether, we cannot say what if any equations
apply to it.
There IS evidence that clocks with moving
mass in their mechanism slow with proximity
to a large mass. (GPS and Pound-Rebka-Snider)

I'm reading Coughlan's "Ideas of Particle Physics", which has some
formulas connecting relativistic mass/energy equations with E=MC^2.
What I'm missing is the expansion of the equation:
m = m0 / (1 - (v^2 / c^2)) ^ (1/2) (I hope that was parsable)
to:
m c^2 = (m0 c^2) + ((m0 v^2) / 2) + ...
I understand that both sides were multiplies by c^2. But where does
that expansion of the inverse square root come from, and what is the
continuation?

Joseph Smith, Jun., Apostle of Jesus the Christ:
I was born in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and five,
on the twenty-third day of December, in the town of Sharon, Windsor county,
state of Vermont. My father, Joseph Smith, was born July 12th, 1771,
in Topsfield, Essex county, Massachusetts; ...

Brigham Young, Apostle of Joseph the Seer:
GREETING:
KNOW YE --
THAT the kingdom of God has come: as has been predicted by ancient
prophets, and prayed for in all ages; even that kingdom which shall fill the
whole earth, and shall stand for ever.
The great Eloheim Jehovah has been pleased once more to speak from the
heavens: and also to commune with man upon the earth, by means of open
visions, and by the ministration of HOLY MESSENGERS.
By this means the great and eternal High Priesthood, after the Order of his
Son, even the Apostleship, has been restored; or, returned to the earth.

No, that's not at all how GR sees this thing.

Time dilation reduces speed
Example:
An object moving with 200000km/sec covers 100000000km in 500 seconds
if there is no time dilation. If there is time dilation, a gamma value
of sqrt(1-vv/cc) = .7453 applies and the 500 seconds at rest dilate
into 500secs/.7453 = 670.82 seconds. An extra 170.82 seconds has been
generated and the object will cover the same 100000000km in 670.82
seconds at a reduced speed of 149071km/hr. The speed is reduced as the
relationship between distance, time and speed cannot be violated. With
or without time dilation, the spaceship will cover a distance of
100000000km or any other distance in the same time.

F=MA
Force()weight) equals mass times acceleration
Mass changing motion will experience changing weight in the opposite
direction. Changing direction but not speed and you experience steady
weight in the opposite direction.
This is another form of gravity.

Light moves fastest, waves at light speed and has the fastest clock.
Light is fastest in motion, waving and time.

Space velocity slows light. Time moves at light speed. Space moves
slower and catches up to time in gravity.
Timemass decreases in freefall but masssmotion increases by gamma
which is inverse so there is total conservation. Gravity converts mass
into motion(kinetic energy of freefall.)

Matter ocupies space and time. They are inside it. In order to measure
a quality the measuring divice must have that quality. Just as a meter
rod is a meter so is a clock time.
The matterial is in the immaterial.

"Will the LIGO Experiment Work?"
An ambitious experiment to detect gravitational waves from distant
astronomical sources is currently in preparation (Laser Interferometric
Gravitational Observatory - LIGO). A typical source for...
