Silly question about the Socrates syllogism

Author: Dan Christensen
Date: May 17, 2008 09:17

How do the 4 types of statements for categorical syllogisms apply to
the old chestnut:

All men are mortal
Socrates is a man
--------------------------
Socrates is mortal

The major premise (all men are mortal) is a universal affirmative, but
what are the minor premise and the conclusion? Is "Socrates" thought
to be a category? Or is this not really a categorical syllogism in the
classical sense?

Yes, what is the difference between a mapping and a relationship?

Are there any other types of association?

I am studing math logic and i found something I think its very
strange.
Why if p is false and q true, p => q is true? it seems very strange
this assertation for me.

I think that one false proposition can't imply a true one.

Can someone help me please?
