Why biodiesel from algae will never amount to much!

Author: calderhome

I use to have some hope that biodiesel from algae might be a serious
fuel source some day, but after much exploration and doing the math,
it seems to me to be hardly worth the effort. The following is the
new update to my webpage on the biofuel hoax at:

http://home.att.net/~meditation/bio-fuel-hoax.html

"The prospect of growing algae to make biodiesel has more positive
potential than making ethanol from switchgrass, but you are still
stuck with the fact that algae need solar energy to turn carbon
dioxide...

JW, didn't to previously post that the Meyer Cell was some sort of a
capacitor, using water as its dielectric? Then too, perhaps I am
mistaken and that bit of silliness was posted by someone else.

I assume that you do realize that "tap water" contains disolved salts
plus minerals, hence conducts electricity. It is an electrolyte, not
a dielectric.

The resistivity of good quality distilled water, by contrast, is
measured in the megohms, and can to an extent act as a somewhat leaky
dielectric.
This is precistly why only distilled water is used for the water
cooling of some high power, high voltage electonics devices such as
large transmitter tubes -- simply so that high voltage is not
conducted through the cooling water.

So let me get this straight.

First, we mine the coal. Then we burn the coal. We generate
electricity. We use electricity to split hydrogen from water.

We collect and compress the hydrogen. We pipeline hydrogen
around the nation to various hydrogen stations and homes.

We burn or react hydrogen to get energy. We use the energy
to move automobiles or heat our homes.

What I see, and be gentle to me, I'm new here, is enormous
efficiency losses. How do we get hydrogen to work, and why
did Geo. Bu$h kill the "Future Generation" project?

  A Meyer summary

Author: Don Lancaster
Date: Feb 28, 2008 12:44

(1) The evidence was utterly overwhelming
that Meyer was both a fraud and utterly
incompetent when making even the most
fundamental of tech measurements.

(2) In many years, nobody anywhere has been
able to credibly reproduce Meyer. Doing
so, of course, would clearly violate DOZENS
of fundamental thermodynamic, electronic,
physics, economic, and other principles.

(3) Faraday's Law ain't broke. To get from
water to hydrogen, an electron needs
moved. Which, by definition, is a current.

Very strange thing to find posted on a website

We all know that with Royal Rife crackpots, the elevator does not to
to the top floor, and this is simply an example. I suppose that this
was posted to improve credibility the Rife machine promoter and
website owner (who sells these quack devices). Still, why post an
image of a check with containing both the bank routing number and
account number?

The home page is this rather 'entertaining' site is:

Curious, to say the least. Can anyone being sufficiently ignorant in
2008 to take this but of snake oil seriously. Still, evidently some
do.

New: The Perfect Perpetual Motion Device For Electric Micro-Generation

Author: george

The So Called "Impossible" Becomes Realitty

" After all, we really don't need to be "attached" to Oil, Nuclear and other
Lobbies to sufice the ammount of Electric Power needed in Modern Society
..."

Greetings for all the members of this Discussion Group

Only recently I realized the existence of this Community.

I'm writting, to give you all, the news about a machine that is now
developped and is in Final Apreciation for World Patent.

The principle of this machine that transforms perpetual linear motion in
circular motion, is one fluid, that may be as simple as ... Water.

It's principles are ... Density, Impulsion and ... Gravity... !!

I know it is hard for the so called Establishment what is said before, but
what is a fact is that the machine does not obbey to the main principles of
Termodynamics as we know it ...

The process is auto-continuous, feeds itself and by a simple principle of
Crankshaft - Lever, generates torque enough to move a mechanical electrical
generator. Of course, it depends on the size of the machine we are intended
to build.
