  ultrasonic speakers

Author: Marc
Date: Sep 5, 2008 05:38

Hi,
for a home project I'm looking for ultrasonic speakers (tweeters) with a
frequency range of more than 30 KHz with a power of about 100W.
Where can I buy them?

Thanks,
Marc

Try a 555 timer in monostable mode. You can set the chip to give a single
output pulse determined by a resistor and a capacitor. Use the output (pin
3) to drive a transistor. Connect the collector of the transistor to a relay
coil. Put a diode (1N4001) in parallel with the coil (with the cathode
connected to the supply to the 555 timer). This will stop the back emf from
the coil. Connect the contacts of the relay to your mains and your load.
Google '555 timer' and you will get tons of suggested circuits.

  Rental PCI analyzer / stimulator?

Author: Pete Fraser

I need to rent a 32-bit 33MHz PCI Analyzer /
Stimulator. I've tried many of the usual supects,
but no luck so far.

Any idea where I might rent one (or alternatively, buy
a used one cheap)?

Thanks

Pete

  Variable Binary Counter?

Author: none
Date: Aug 29, 2008 13:41

Hello,

I'm putting together a circuit that uses a binary counter to cycle through
addresses of SRAM. I would like to vary the number of addresses used while
the circuit is running. Does anyone know of a simple way to build a binary
counter with a variable count?

Thanks.

My Daqarta software can do that with ease. Download (see sig) and install it.
(It's absolutely FREE, forever, if you only need the signal gnerator.)
When it starts up, it will create a 400 Hz sine by default when you toggle
Generator on. To change that, click on Waveform Controls and then Sweep.
In the Sweep dialog you can set Start and End frequencies, and Length in samples
or seconds.

Pulse sequence from camera I.R. remote

Author: L.A.T.
Date: Aug 19, 2008 13:55

My Canon G2 has an InfraRed remote shutter release. Is there any way I can
find out what is the timing and frequency of the pulses it transmits? I hope
to make a timer that will take an exposure every ten seconds, unattended,
for a couple of hours at a birds' nest.
I have made a timer from a circuit in a local electronics magazine that
opens and closes a relay which turns on and off a remote from Hong Kong
(less than $2 on eBay).
Works well, but it is a bit of overkill. I am sure I can make something
simple using a little Picaxe.
Anyone know where I can find out what pulse sequence I must transmit?
Any response will be appreciated.

  LM3478 design gets insanely hot

Author: Henrik [7182]
Date: Jul 29, 2008 05:35

Hello Experts,

This is my first time designing a SEPIC type switchmode power supply with
the LM3478MM from national as my controller.

My design is pretty much the standard application as shown in the datasheet.

The design is made to supply 24V out from a 15-32V input. Ouput current is
1A.

My problem is that my two inductors and the MOSFET gets insanely hot. Much
more hot that I had anticipated. So I wonder if there is somewhere I have
missed something vital.

I am using CDRH127 series 22uH inductors from Sumida, which are rated at
3.3Amp and has a DCR of 43mR

I use a 39K resistor to obtain approx. 400kHz switch frequency.

I use 7mR as Rsense and MBRS360 as my power diode.

My Compensation-filter consists of 100nF and 1K.

My Mos-Fet is NP55N055 from NEC which has 12.5mR on-resistance.

Since I am a novice in the field of SMPS, this has me baffled quite a bit,
and I hope that someone could lead me on right path.

Thanking you all in advance.

  Atmega8 to drive a motor

Author:

Hi,
I looking at driving a half amp 12v pump from an atmega8 or 168
through a mosfet. What is the recommended mosfet for this application? I
have done heaps of snooping online but am getting quite bamboozled.

Thanks in advance, regards

Darren
