HDMI cable: Any difference in Belkin vs. Audioquest cable?

Author: andygupta2007
Date: Sep 7, 2008 17:46

Hi -

does using a $20 Belkin HDMI 1.3 cable make any difference in picture
and sound quality versus a $115 Audioquest HDMI cable (the ones sold
by Tweeter)? I have a 37 inch 1080p LCD and connecting a pioneer
receiver and blu-ray player to the TV.

Thanks!

What were the -5/+12 supplies for in old NMOS?

Author: Wim Lewis
Date: Sep 5, 2008 13:16

Over on a web forum [1] someone asked about some of the older logic
chips that required multiple supplies and it's been bothering me that I
can't find out the answer.

Some NMOS chips like the 8080 needed an extra negative (-5) and more-
positive (+12) supply to function. But pretty soon there were chips like
the Z80, which ran from a single supply, but was still described as "NMOS".
And Wikipedia says that there was a Soviet clone of the 8080 (the
KR580VM80) that used the extra supplies but could (?) operate properly
with the -5v supply at 0v and the +12v supply at +5v.

So what were the extra rails for? Textbook illustrations of NMOS gates
always seem to show just one supply. What did the internal schematic
of the 8080's logic gates look like vs. the Z80's? Why were later NMOS
chips able to dispense with the extra rails?

My best guess is that manufacturing allowed closer control of the
transistors' Vt or other parameters, and so they could use smaller
biasing voltages and still have acceptable margin. But that's really
just a guess on my part. Surely someone in this group knows for sure!

  Gyroscopic Inductance

Author: extremesoundandlight
Date: Sep 4, 2008 07:34

This is a new design for Gyroscopic Inductance circuit for DC current
production using the gyroscope itself as the induction circuit for
long term space flight. It will produce Direct current from a
gyroscope functioning in a zero gravitational field as an inductance
circuit. The two non-permeable gimbals’ armatures rotate around a
permanent inner magnet 180 degrees out of phase from one another
giving 360 degrees of a full rotation that allow a 100%% duty cycle
when precession occurs. A north and south alignment on the spherical
inner permanent magnet rotates around the central centrifugal spin
axis witch doubles as a rotor flywheel. I have been working on the
proto type for 15 years now utilizing nano carbon fiber as the coils
in the inductor circuit; they are imbedded into the gyro’s non-
permeable gimbals in a zigzag pattern un-like the coils in an
induction circuit. Magnetic couplers between the gyroscopes parts
reduce further fatigue on the motor parts and reduce friction. There
are strategically placed permeable alloys in the gimbal armatures when
pulsed with DC current create magnetic field areas that interact with
the rotor for start, stop and homing of the gimbals. if gravitational
interference occurs in space flight a dc pulsed circuit 90 degrees
adjacent from the rotor flywheel controlled with small pulses of ...

What happens when a flourescent ballast "goes out"?

Author: Dave
Date: Sep 4, 2008 04:19

It seems to me that a flourescent ballast is probably just a transformer and
a high-voltage electrolytic cap. And when it "goes out" it's probably
because the cap failed. If these are true, could I just replace the cap and
make it work again? Assuming (hate that word) of course that I could get
the ballast open. What thinks the group? Please offer whatever laughing
criticism or encouragement you feel is appropriate. I do not need a fire
hazard in the kitchen...

Many thanks,

Dave

what is your opinion about original and fake?

Author: Pamela
Date: Sep 3, 2008 07:11

In fact , fakes are everywhere. but why they cant be totally
forbidded? and why still so many many B2B platforms exist? and the
most important is why there still a very big market of fakes? all
these why ? who can tell me? Maybe all ppl know that bcz of the needs
of ppl (customers) who cant afford to the expensive originals !

So many name brands are really so expensive, just luxury for the
rich. And many ppl just want to show their money but not the shoes
jeans clothing that they wear on!

Im not extreme, just tell the truth!

finally , welcome to www.sys-club.com . Whether you wish to visit it
or not, it doesnt matter! It is up to you!
