Fiber Optics for the Power Sector:
The National Power Grid in any country is the high-voltage electric
power transmission network, connecting power stations and major
substations and ensuring that electricity generated anywhere within
the country can be used to satisfy demand elsewhere. In order to
monitor, supervise and control the power grid in an effective and
efficient manner a hierarchical load dispatching systems are employed.
In order to perform the load dispatch function efficiently, online
acquisition of power system data and its real time processing is
performed by computer based Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
(SCADA) system. There has been a significant improvement in
Information and Communication Technology (ICT) infrastructure in power
sector in the last decade.
The telecommunication facility presently available between power
stations and substations comprises PLCC, Microwave and Optical Fiber
Communication systems. The Optical Fiber Communication system for the
transmission of speech, data and other signals is becoming
increasingly important because of its advantages viz; low attenuation,
high band width, small physical cross-section, immunity to
electromagnetic interferences, and security. ...

Greetings. I need help in designing a battery indicator for my
project. for eg , using a AA battery. the LED will show a colour when
battery is full and colour in the following LED will slowly dim down
with when its flat. Wad other equipment and resources do i need ?
How do i draw a circuit diagram this way ? thanks .

I am looking for a circuit and software that I once saw in the 1990's. It
had a microphone, a circuit and a serial port output. It converted speech
to serial input to a computer. The software allowed you to play back the
speech. I still have the circuit I built for this, but have long since lost
the software.
Does anyone remember the circuit I am referring to? Do you happen to know
where I can get the software and possibly schematic again?
Thank you,
Tim

Greets All
I'm trying to amplify my audio from my computer sound card and turn it
into a Tens machine. So I need to increase the current/voltage do you
guys know/recommend the best way to go about doing this? The
frequency range I plan to use is from 1Hz to 20KHz.
Aloha
Rick

I bought a USB drive, and it came in a small plastic shell package.
Is it safe to assume that this plastic material is anti-static?
I have not yet opened the package, and I left it sitting on the carpet
for a while. Then I did some vacuuming, and ran the vacuum cleaner
right next to the package.
Assuming that the plastic package is anti-static, would that be enough
to prevent the USB drive from being damaged by any static electricity
generated from the carpet or the vacuum cleaner?
