Wonder if anyone has compiled a "List of forbidden knowlege" or
information? Basically this would consist of any information that
might get you in trouble with the authorities if you are found with
it.

I'd think that anything about lock breaking/etc, and also reverse
engineering of CCTV systems?

No leverage. Entertainers and professional athletes make lots and lots

I have a classic motorcycle and I have updated the old alternator to a
Permanent Magnet Alternator,
but the motorcycle has a starter safety relay ( which basically stops
the starter motor from reengaging once the engine has started)
which is activated by 4 volts from the old style alternator
now i need something small rugged and vibration proof to step down
the voltage from 12 volt to 4 volt

I have a failed PSU where a rather smelly capacitor appears to be the
problem. It's rated 1200uf/16v but my local Maplin doesn't stock it.
However they do stock 1000uf/16v and 2200uf/16v. Since I don't really
know what the figures mean, does anyone else know whether either of
these are likely to work? I dunno whether the 2200 means it's overkill
for the application but it would work, so long as I can get it to fit
or something.
