  OT oil spill cleanup

Author: ehsjr
Date: May 31, 2008 21:40

Got an oil spill on some PCB's - I can clean them,
no problem. Don't ask if they run faster now! :-)
The question is - how do I clean the oil out of
the teak (unfinished) bench and out of the flagstone
below? There's a hand sized oil stain on both the teak
and the flagstone.

I'd really like to get it out of the teak - I prefer
the unfinished look - but I can apply an oil finish
if I must. That would make it look uniform. The
flagstone is another matter. It is large and cemented
in place, so replacement is not an option.

Any ideas? TIA

Ed

Lots of cranes in the news lately.

Our friend Nina lives at 144 Nevada Street, in Bernal Heights. The top
half of her street is fairly steep, maybe 10%% grade, and there's a
construction site at the top, where they're building a new pumping
station. There was a crane up there for about a year, and they drove
it down this morning, about 7:30.

She's been annoyed with the way her neighbors park the red Cadillac;
that shouldn't be a problem any more.

Do you really need dummies? You can just design a board and build one,
and it will probably work. And unless the pin count is really high,
you can likely buy real parts in the same package as cheap as dummies.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-1023166/Absolutely-chuffed-What-happened...

It's a project which makes no sense on paper - but it has created 90
tons of polished, gleaming, shining nostalgia. Above all, it means the
world to the small team behind it.

Their aim? It's ambitious, to say the least. To build, by hand, the
first new full-sized mainline steam express locomotive in Britain for
half a century.

In a few weeks, all being well, the boiler will be fired and their
locomotive, christened Tornado, will turn its wheels for the first time.

my leds are dim. please help.

hi,

i have a circuit based on a chip on a chip manufactured by "LAN"
"EM7BM611ABMJ
0714LBJC07A32"
is written on the chip but cannot be found online.

the chip is used to light 9 leds using a software located on my pc.
the pcb is connected by USB.

the original wires were replaced by me
each led is connected to a separate leg of the chip but they all share
one common "ground" (-) wire

all the leds are dim except of two who are alittle brighter but not to
bright.

when i tried to connect the leds in an opposite direction they light
well, but only one can be on at any given time.
does anybody have any idea or solution to this problem?
If there are any details missing just tell me and i'll provide them.
thank you very much,
os

Sounds like they don't want your business.

  audio amp with dc output?

Author: Charles Rowe
Date: May 31, 2008 06:08

I've been away from designing circuits for about a decade, so my knowledge
of current components is, well, nonexistent.

I want to make a device that amplifies a signal from a microphone and puts
out a dc signal up to 3 volts based on the sound volume. 50mA should
suffice. 3 volt supply for the circuit.

This is my first post here. I hope it fits within your guidelines.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
