You are comparing white collar criminals with Islamic terrorists
who strap on explosive vests and blow themselves up inside the
mosques of those who follow a slightly different version of Islam.
The internet needs licensing so we can revoke yours.

To a much smaller degree than you realise.

The ones on the list, definately. With the exception of avenger who's
obviously some chick who's joined to make men look bad but she fails to
realise that Viking and the muppets do that already.

I tested this machine more today. If I power it up and then depress
the little breaker in the back (which seems popped), my GFCI
blows. Powered from generator, depressing the breaker button seems to
power the unit's fan down and seems to shut it down altogeher until
un-pressed.
I basically decided to part it out and not to sell or try it anymore
in its present form. It is too dangerous at 25 kV and seems to have
something wrong with it. It is absolutely not supported by associated
research any more. They have no manuals, no old guys to talk to,
etc.
There are some fun goodies in there, such as a 25 kV, 1.2 kW high
voltage adjustable transformer (10a input), HV rectifier, huge
capacitors (maybe 3 uF), 7/8" thick high voltage cable for those
thumping pulse discharges, 100' single piece 1/0 gauge welding cable
for grounding, about as much in smaller 1/0 gauge grounding pieces
made of same cable, and also a very interesting High Voltage Vontactor
to make those pulsed discharges.
I hope to learn something as I take it apart. Maybe I will post a
webpage on what is inside a thumper like this, if anyone is interested.

I have a particular device that I would like to test, which is called
a "thumper". It was made by associated research (model 8613) and is
comprised of two under-desk-refrigerator-sized pieces, about 600 lbs
total weight.
For those who do not know, a thumper is a device that delivers pulses
of high voltage (up to 25 kV DC in my case) and huge currents, usually
above 1000 joules energy, to a buried high voltage cable where an
insulation fault needs to be located to find out where to dig to
splice it. The lineman walks along the cable path until he feels
"thumps" under his feet from electrical discharges in the faulty
insulation.
There are warnings on my thumper that say in big letters that it must
be grounded to a ground rod. For obvious usual reasons. I do not want to
ground it to my house ground rod for safety reasons. So I went to Home
Depot and bought their 5/8" 10' "copper clad" ground rod.
What I would like is to achieve two goals with this:
First is to ground the thumper to test it.
The second is to use this rod later for lightning protection. My house
is on top of a modest hill and was already hit by lightning. See
