Questions about cheese and foot odor and chemicals

Hi:

What chemicals other than diacetyl, butryic acid, isobutryic acid,
propionic acid, valeric acid, and isovaleric acid are responsible for
the cheesy foot odor?

I am confused about methane thiol it MAYbe also resposible for foot
odor but I am not sure.

On http://www.wheatoncollege.edu/Quarterly/q2003fall/bacteria.html it
says:

"methane thiol, the distinctive smell of socks and feet, as well as
some delicious cheeses."

However, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methanethiol states that:

"Methanethiol is a colorless gas with a smell like rotten cabbage."

This is so confusing and frustrating!!!!

Someone please give as assisting hand.

Cabbage and cheese are very much different from each
other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, but how can the same chemical have the smell of cabbage and
cheese? It doesn't make sense.

There is a world of difference between the smell of cabbage and the
smell of cheese.
