It seems pretty feeble to me - but presumably it works.

It has a number of classical traits: the promise of a
reward, a threat of punishment. However, heaven and
damnation seem to have been replaced with a romantic theme.

Sorry - but I just had to post this: I have enough trouble
with relationships as it is ;-)
