Duration of evolution

Author: neo
Date: May 6, 2007 22:30

This is what evolution theory states-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_evolution

..
And this is what blind people says-

http://groups.google.com/group/alt.dreams/browse_thread/thread/f79a4f1e1ec06540

..
If a blind person can develope ability to distinguish between broad
sprectrum of visible light just by touch and in matter of few years,
then it means that it took much more less time to develope five senses
during evolution.

I am confused.

I didn't read that dream link before I responded before. The way
you posed the question made it sound like a recapitulation issue.
Sorry.
The guy in that dream link didn't say that he saw these airplanes,
bicycles, etc. He heard things that he associated with them. He
probably had tactile sensations that he associated with them to. The
person who responded put forth an interesting question. How closely
would the fellow truly be able to describe the shape of these objects.
It was not a visual dream, and so wasn't a case of vision coming back.
So it wasn't...

These are two unrelated facts. Well, let me qualify that
slightly.
The development of the senses of a species is phylogeny
(evolution). The ability of an individual to learn to distinguish
colors...
