You were indeed, as you cannot read the primary source material in its
original language and orthography, you are totally unable to 'teach'
Thiering pesher to any one, other than as a a 'revealed truth'.

I will state the obvious.

If Ian really wants to know the answer to his question, Ian should get
the paper from Yowie and judge for himself whether it is brilliant and
then get back to us.

BTW, I meant to write Christainsen acolyte, not Christian acolyte.

I'm an academic engineer. What makes you think I'm qualified to judge
whether a paper on church history is brilliant or not?

Are you saying that you believe me to be fully competent to assess
Thiering's work?

You have not even followed the flow of conversation enough to know
that the 1981 Thiering paper has nothing to do with church history.
