mixing two age group of chickens, a good idea?

We have two age groups of chicken. They are four weeks apart. So far
they are living in seperate coups, but we are thinking about mixing
them together. Would the older ones pick on the smaller younger
ones. The youger ones are about 8 weeks, older 12 weeks. Any
suggestions?

thanks.

You can probably mix them on range. I'd be cautious about shutting them up
together, though.

Are they all the same breeds and size?

They are likely to bully each other for some weeks to come.
If they can be supervised them try letting them out together but keeping
them separate at night.
Once the youngest are around 15 weeks or more then they are likely to be
fine.
