Additional TVs from a DirecTV HD receiver?

Author: Patty Winter
Date: Jan 19, 2008 00:05

I have some friends who currently have two DirecTV receivers,
one of which feeds the big TV in the living room plus (via coax
run under the house) two smaller TVs in the kitchen and dining
room. They'd kinda like to get an HDTV for the living room,
but are wondering whether there would be any way to feed an SD
signal to those additional TVs. (When the receiver is tuned to
an SD channel, of course.) They said they looked at an HD
DirecTV receiver once and didn't see a way to hook up extra
TVs, by which I assume they mean they didn't see a coax connector.
They even called DirecTV and got to speak to a tech rep, but that
person wan't sure, either.

Anyone here have such a setup? Or know for sure whether it
would work?

Thanks,
Patty

  Dish mounting?

What's the least destructive and/or intrusive way to get them to mount the
dish to the house? We're in a frame ranch (siding) with excellent southern
exposure.
