What if you don't have a current agreement?

Also, I just found a discussion of these discountson DBSTalk, and
someone reported that the one for existing customers ended last Friday.
Is that not correct?

For existing customers, DirecTv is offering a $100 rebate if you are a AAA
member. You get $50 off of your next bill and another $50 in 13 months.
The catch is that you have to extend your current agreement for one more
year.

The number to call for this is 1-800-242-9114

DirecTv is having a Showtime free preview next weekend (3/6-3/9). Does
anyone know if the the On Demand programs will also be available for
download during the preview if you are not a Showtime subscriber?

  DirecTV Argentina in USA

Author: J
Date: Feb 24, 2008 07:41

Hi Satelite Gurus,
I would like to subscribe to DirecTV Argentina and would love to
be able to view it in North Miami. I currently have DirecTV in the
states with the High Definition anthena (don't know the name of the
anthena, but is fairly larger than the regular one). If i bring the
receiver from DirecTV Argentina to the USA, will I be able to watch it
with my anthena? Is it possible?

Thanks in advanced...

  DirecTV Nightmare

Author: JerryC
Date: Feb 17, 2008 10:06

I never thought I'd sound like a commercial for the cable company, whom
I couldn't stand. But my experience so far with DirecTV has been a
nightmare. I've given up on the other issues (lies about getting Weather
Channel "Local on the 8's", whether I need a phone line, charging extra
for high-def NFL Sunday ticket broadcasts, weather "won't affect your
signal"), but if someone could help with our most serious problem below,
I'd appreciate that and probably be happy.

What happens is that we often go to watch a channel, or during a show,
the screen just whites out and we get the 771 searching for satellite.
Then we have to reset the box and everything is fine (after waiting
about 15 minutes while it says "Almost done"). So the problem shouldn't
be the dish alignment - everything is fine after a box reset! I think
this only happens on our main box, the HD/DVR one. The worst part is
that when we record shows on the DVR and this happens, we get nothing.

DirecTV HR20 and Seagate FAP drive?

Author: Charlie Hoffpauir

I understand that the Seagate FAP series of external drives work well
with the HR20 (and not so well with the HR21). Since I have the HR20,
I'm curious.... do I lose existing recorded material on the internal
drive of the HR20 when I connect up and activate the FAP unit?

  DirecTv On Demand

The menus just became active on my HR20. I plan on hooking up soon.

Any early reviews on the service?

Also, it says that it is free right now. Do you think they will eventually
charge for the service or stay free like Comcast?
