We had a brownout in my area last night, and my older DirecTV
receiver (a Sony SAT B-2) appears to be the worse for it. It's
telling me, "You have inserted the wrong card. Please insert
the proper Access Card." I removed and reinserted the card a
couple of times, but there's been no improvement.
Before I call DirecTV, are there any other diagnostics I can
perform? I don't want to pay for a new access card and then
discover that something is actually wrong with the receiver.
I don't think so, though, because I'm getting the barker
channels okay.
If they immediately suggest that I buy a new access card,
should I ask them to try reinitializing the existing card
first?
