It says that reservations for early August opened in March, so
you'll probably have trouble getting one.

There are also national forests bordering Yosemite National
Park. For example, here is information about camping in
Stanislaus National Forest, which borders Yosemite along
Highway 120:

What part of Yosemite? If you head all the way through to Tioga Lake,
it's a long but gorgeous drive, and there are a lot of camp grounds
just outside the park, more than you can remember. Have a look at
