I liked the Ibis Vaci Ut. It's not the most central location, but is
actually walkable to the centre of Pest (good 20-30 minutes though.)
However, it's right next to a busy subway station, and on good bus
routes etc. Some of the rooms on higher floors have great views of the
city from their balconies. We were lucky enough to have such a room! Ask
for the 8th floor or above if possible.
