My last cruise was to Nassau in 1990's on Carnival's Ectasy(?) ship.
Although I enjoy Carnival very much, I'd like to know about other
cruiselines that provide 3-day travel in the Bahamas, which are just
as/more beautiful. We'd probably go in late July or early August, and
prefer a ship catering to passengers of mid-range in age (i.e., not
Disney-type for kids or exclusively for the mature).
Thanks.

Well, late July or early Aug. in the Bahamas, hummmm,
heat and rain, rain and heat, oh, and maybe a hurricane.

If you are cruising based on ships, the shorter cruises use their older,
less elegant ships. So if you want to go & enjoy a great ship, then you
might want a 7 day cruise.

Why the Majesty of the Seas and not the Sovereign of the Seas? Yes the
SOS is older, but it is still an option with the same itin.
BGi1, I would also look at the Disney Wonder. Yes it is Disney, but
Disney is not in your face all the time and the ship is very
interesting to see. They have adult only areas, pool, beach and
entertainment etc. The only real downside to Disney is that there is
no casino on the ship, don't know if that is important to you or not.
If time allows you might want to look at 5 or 7 day cruises, it would
give you a lot more options!
