Just returned from a fabulous Alaskan cruise on the Celebrity

line to the eastern Caribbean....will I be disappointed in the Carnival
line after the Celebrity?
TIA and hav a great weekend,

I've been on both ... and enjoyed both ...They are different ...
Celebrity IMO gives the best overall cruise experience ... Yet I
prefer to go on NCL because their freestyle concept fits our vacation
psyche better ...
There are a lot of things about the Carnival experience that I
dislike ... The "fun ship" concept is fine overall ... but less
fitting for our relaxing vacation ... Just make the cruise your cruise
and not theirs ...

I totally agree with number6 poster. We have been on both cruise lines
many times and love them both. We have seen Carnival change, for the
better, improving their service which is close to Celebrity. We found
the on ship activities during sea days more to our liking on Celebrity.
Two seniors who enjoy lecture series and trivia games. Carnival seems
to offer more games on the Lido deck. But both will provide very good
food, shows, service and the cabins are just about equal. Can't recall
the beds on Celebrity but the beds & pillows on Carnival are the BEST.
Go with an open mind and you will have a great cruise.

Easy fixed.

Just do what young people who travel on P&O Australia ships do.

Open the cabin door and urinate on the dancers.

Bob Dickinson was vacationing on our Eastern Med cruise and had 2 Q&A
sessions ...He mentioned a lot of changes some requested ... like less
"bingo starts in one hour " announcements ... but others ... like
singing/dancing waiters ... which they consider part of the Carnival
experience and they won't change ...When someone asked to make
Carnival like (HAL, Princess etc.) he said no ... we offer different
products that appeal to different people ... He was very good ... no
beat around the bush answers ... told it they way he saw it ... I
liked when he got a "Did you stop treating employees like dirt"
question ... and came right out and said ...that's the type of
question that gets me riled and it is nonsense ...

And btw ... they are very proud of their pillows ... got special
mention ...

Only if you expect the same level of service from Carnival that you
received from Celebrity. Also, Carribbean cruises tend to have a
much younger customer than Alaskan cruises, which means more
people staying up late and more drinking. If you want peace and
quiet, get a cabin near the bow or the stern.

Ellie,
You did not mention which Carnival ship and length of the cruise...Both
these will have some bearing on your experience.
Having been on both lines, I have enjoyed them both... They will be
different...

Possibly... unless you enjoy being divided into red, blue, and white
"teams" who are expected to give a cheer at any given moment...if you
enjoy having your after-dinner conversation interrupted by the waiters
singing and dancing every night (forget about refills on your coffee,
they're all too busy)
