  Fuel Surcharge ?

Author: Darth Ferret

Booked a cruise on phone to major travel agency that advertises on TV -
Carnival, 4 night to Mexico in mid April. Final price was about $85 per
person higher than expected. When I asked the difference I was told that the
fuel surcharge was that much. Thinking about it now wondering if this was
true. Is fuel surcharge really this much or should I be suspicious?

Thanks in advance,
Joe in Florida

Tomorrow I get my cancerous bladder removed. Please have a good thought for
me.
Enjoy every minute of your cruises. You never know when they will come to an
end. We have cancelled 5.
Many Thanks,
Don

I've been on Enchantment, and her sister, Rhapsody of the Seas. In my
opinion, they're a great size (the new mega liners don't hold much
appeal to me). Sovereign is really old, but was recently drydocked (in
the last year or so....or was it longer...they did that whole TV
documentary on it) and completely gutted and refurbished. Not sure if
they did anything to the cabin size, though. And, if they didn't, that
ship has a reputation for some of the smallest cabins at sea.

Of the ports you listed, and because the rest of your vacation is
pretty active, I'd pick Coco Cay as #1 (a good day to veg, relax, soak
up some sun, swim, etc) Cozumel as #2 (option to do the same as at
Coco Cay, but also option for shopping or more active pursuits), Key
West for #3 - love it for shopping, grabbing a bite, people watching,
etc...very quaint and as close to a Caribbean feel as you'll get in
the U.S. Freeport /Nassau would be my least fave of the ports you've
listed. I'd likely stay on the ship on those port days. Enjoy a quiet
day out on deck.

Carnival Inspiration is the only one of those you mentioned that we have
been on. It was just last month and I don't think I would ever go back
on it again. If you love red and purple decor with lots of neon tho you
might like it.

In October my husband and I are taking a Mediterranean cruise on the
Voyager of the Seas. This is our first European cruise and we're
wondering will our final bill be in Euros or Dollars?

Thanks,
Mary
