One of my favorite McDonalds next to the one in a bank building in
Bergen. I am glad you liked Talin becasue it is IMJO the Jewel of the
Baltic (well there is Visby but that is a secret, shhhhhh!)

Shore Excursions - Grand Turk and Santa Marta

Author: Rosalie B.
Date: Jul 13, 2008 06:23

I am working my way through the ports on our fall cruise through the
Panama Canal on HAL. Almost all the ports are ones we haven't been to
before, and there seems to be very little information on some of them.
For instance the San Blas Islands, they don't even offer any
excursions, and the only one they offer in Santa Marta is the Santa
Marta City Tour and Folkloric Show. The City Tour says it is moderate
activity, which I assume means some walking. What is the possibility
of just hiring a taxi for a day? Could we go to the nearby fishing
village Taganga which is supposed to have one of the cheapest diving
spots on the planet?

The shore excursions for Grand Turk seem to be roughly divided into
three categories

Fishing (which I'm not interested in at all)
Snorkel/Snuba/Scuba
Train or bus tours which concentrate on the history and/or ecology of
the island.

[Incidentally if they get into port at 12 A.M. is that noon or
midnight?]

Help port of call change to Palermo, Sicily

Author: iwannabeatsea

My husband and I are traveling on a med cruise in a few months. On
our anniversary, our ship was going to make a stop in Naples. We'd
decided to spend the day on the Amalfi coast, visiting Sorrento,
Positano, and Amalfi -- a nice anniversary excursion. Now, our ship
has canceled the Naples stop, and substituted a stop in Palermo,
Sicily instead.

Since this is our anniversary, I'd like to go somewhere that is quaint
and romantic. I've just started researching the surrounding areas,
and see that Cefalu seems nice. I thought about spending most of our
day in Cefalu, while reserving a little time in the late afternoon for
exploring Palermo. Any thoughts? Has anyone gone to Cefalu? If so,
have you traveled by train from Palermo to Cefalu? It looks like
there are hourly trains between the cities, but I'm not sure about
their reliability. For that reason, we might consider booking the
ship's excursion to Cefalu. I would just prefer to be on our own for
our special day. Any other thoughts about what to do?

In advance, many thanks!

Absolutely- not only when Mrs. Nonny is in a drunken rage, but when
others I don't even know show up at the cabin door with burning torches.

We used to go to a place called paradise island in nassau, but they
changed the name, does anyone know what it is called now?I tried finding
out from N.C.L. but get no response. That is one of the
ports we go to on our 14 day cruise,we are probably not getting off the
ship in any of the ports since we have been to all of them several
times, but was curious about nassau.

As for people going overboard on a cruise ship,I think it is because
they get stinking drunk and try to show off,we have cruised 45 times, and
god willing we will continue for many more years,no problems with
worrying about going overboard, only concern is ship sinking, and my not
being able to swim, but then at my age why waste time being a worry wart

Family Matters…

Do you want a marvelous new outlet for preserving your vacation,
special event, or even the day-to-day activities of your family caught
on film? Those memories are priceless and turning them into
magnificent scrapbook pages for your family treasure box can be as
simple as a few clicks away. And equally as fascinating, scrapbooking
allows you to record as little or as much journaling about the event
as you like to go along with your precious photos.
