I want the one based on her posed in a bikini by the pool with a
shotgun-purely because of my ongoing and obsessive study of historical
political,,. figues(!)

Anyone want old Playmates STAR TREK figures?

Author: Styreneman

I unfortunately bought about half of Playmate's production line a few
years ago and have more of these than I care to admit to. I have
everything from original figures through First Contact and everything
between. All carded mint. If you want to buy or trade for a bunch let
me know. I won't even go the casual but lazy route of Ebaying them.
Space - the final frontier of Playmates toys wasteland...(seriously I
love Trek!)

An interesting toy week, all things considered. A few interesting

Mattel collector's site showed up. A very nice piece. I normally
collect loose (ya gotta play with those toys!), but every now and...

  DCU Infinite Heroes figures...

Author: Tom
Date: Aug 2, 2008 13:33

While at the aforementioned Target, I found the the new DCU Infinite
Heroes 3.75" figures. They were pretty picked over, but I was able to
find Guy Gardner, Captain Marvel and Adam Strange. The Guy is quite
fun to look at... he's got that stink eye, I'm gonna smack you look.
One of the details I especially like is his muscles don't show in his
vest. Cap is the modern version with the spandex rather than the flap
front tunic of the classic version. He sports gold trim. I didn't
really notice until I got them home, but the paint on Cap is a wee bit
sloppy, but it's nothing I can't fix and live with. Adam Strange is by
far my favorite. His rocket pack is a separate piece, not molded into
the body. While his helmet and head are one piece, the molding is so
sharp, they can easily be mistaken for...

  Walmart pricing

I was in Walmart yesterday, and saw the new Hulk series of Marvel Legends
with the build a figure Fin Fang Foom. The figures are of the same caliber
and style as the last set of figures, where they all look like they've been
sculpted out of Chap Stik. I don't know what it is about the complexity of
the skin on the figures, but they look far less realistic than the older
Marvel Legends before they switched companies. Now, of course, they're great
as a playtoy, but they're just not as realistic as the older series used to
be. Another downside, there's 8 figures in the set, and they upped the
prices on them to $14.99 each. I also collect Cars, and they're more
expensive, I believe, as well going for $3.47 each. I can understand having
to raise prices, but if they do, surely they could have given...

  JLU Goodness At Target

Author: Frogdog
Date: Jul 30, 2008 21:14

So, like Tom, I was able to order a SDCC Giganta from the new Mattel
collector's site.

Then, this evening, I went by one of the local Targets and they had
the new Apokolips six figure set. This gave me four brand new JLU
figs: Mantis, Lashina, Forager and Mr. Miracle (I puposely skipped
the earlier three pack in anticipation of this set). Of course I have
another Darksied and my 600th Superman figure as well....:o) But it's
a good set.

Also, for those that might have missed them last Christmas, there were
also some of the Grodd/Legion of Doom sets out as well.

Combine that with finding Hellboy 2: the Golden Army figs at TRU
(including the elusive and MASSIVE Wink figure), and it was a pretty
good toy run day.

Frogdog has left the building.
