"I have approximately 1,200," he said.

"You experience the music versus hearing the music," MacRunnel said.

For 18-year-old Lukas Glickman, LPs have become an obsession.

"I spend all my money on it. It's a problem," he said.

She should not be alive.

That's what doctors said in amazement to a Riverview woman who'd been
shot between the eyes and lived to tell about it.

The 41-year-old retail manager was shot shortly before midnight
Saturday at the intersection of Causeway Boulevard and U.S. 301 by an
irate driver, she said. She spoke today to the Tribune on the
condition that she not to be identified because the gunman has not
been caught and she fears for her life and loved ones.

The woman was in the passenger seat of her boyfriend's Ford pickup as
they headed south on 50th Street. Her 22-year-old daughter rode in the
back seat of the extended cab.

The three of them had been to a drive-in movie and stopped to get
sandwiches from Salem's shop on at 2015 N. 50th St. near Seventh
Avenue, she said.

YORK, Pa. (AP) - A 2-year-old girl died after being
beaten with a video game controller by her mother's boyfriend, police
said Tuesday. Darisabel Baez's mother overheard the beating Sunday but
did nothing until she realized the girl was unconscious, police said.

The girl was pronounced dead late Monday at Hershey Medical Center,
police Lt. Ron Camacho said.

Homicide was added to the list of charges against Harve L. Johnson on
Tuesday; he was already in jail on counts including aggravated assault
and reckless endangerment.

Education and military service

Jeremiah Wright (Behind I.V.), in 1966, as a U.S. Navy Hospital
Corpsman. He is tending to President Lyndon Johnson, for which he was
commended (see letter superimposed on photo).

From 1959 to 1961, Wright attended Virginia Union University, in
Richmond. Inspired by President John F. Kennedy's 1961 challenge to
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for
your country," Wright gave up his student deferment, left college and
joined the United States Marine Corps and became part of the 2nd
Marine Division with the rank of private first class.

In 1963, after two years of service, Wright then transferred to the
United States Navy and entered the Corpsman School at the Great Lakes
Naval Training Center, where he graduated as valedictorian.

Having excelled in corpsman school, Wright was then trained as a
cardiopulmonary technician at the National Naval Medical Center in
Bethesda, Maryland where he graduated as salutatorian.
